Brian R. Price & Robert Holland demonstrate a competitive I.33 bout using Arms and Armor swords and Revival bucklers. This is one of my absolute favorite fights!

#1 Brian Price 2009-02-26 03:14 This was an outstanding bout, from my perspective. It was the first time Robert and I had used the system in competition against one another, and we used the Arms and Armor rebated single handed swords, which played beautifully. It seemed that this was the right level of armour for the weapon, so that we didn't have to pull back all of the blows (we could finish them).

Also from my perspective, while I did some things I like, the buckler should have stayed closer to the hand. The first thrust was my favorite, but the most effective I.33 technique I managed was the grip on his weapon (at the end). I would have liked to do a lot more Fiddlebow— next time!

Robert fought, as usual, with superb precision, wasting nothing and respondng quickly to changes. I especially liked his roversi, where he struck my arm twice…

Happily, we had only a single doppio; all the rest were exchanged one way or the other.

Thank you, Robert, for the memorable bout. Maybe we can do a repeat this year?
